po-lice

mySS took me to the police concert instead of seeing kelly (but! apparently she pulled the plug on her summer tour today). it was at the A's mc-eff coliseum. i have never ever experienced a concert like this in its enormity! take a look:

waiting in a really, really long line for the restroom. luckily it went faster than the food/drink line!:

the seats slowly getting filled-up:

they're finally starting at 9pm:

i can kinda see sting! well, sorta:

the concert was ok--well since, i don't really know much about police. i recognized some songs. this was the first concert in 23 years since they broke-up. i was more in awe of the $10 beer, watching people drink enormous amounts of beer, waiting in the longest lines ever for the women's restroom, masses of fans, first visit to the A's coliseum, learning the shortcuts, and how to get free parking.

on an unrelated note:
i hope kelly has a concert again! i'm so THERE! i think i'm gonna join her fan club. she is NOT a sell-out! she's da best!

hornblower cruise wedding

last saturday we went to a wedding on a hornblower cruise boat. it started off with the ceremony at the doubletree berkeley marina. we then went on a 3 hour cruise around the bay (without getting stranded ;).

it was a nice intimate ceremony and reception. they had personalized boat ornaments and candy hearts like this:

we passed by the new and old bay bridge.

it was super windy and cold on the boat but there were great views of SF!

here we are with the newlywedded couple debby and david!

afterwards we headed to the berkeley rose garden. it was beautiful even though a lot of roses were already at full bloom and dying.

i found my favorite color in a rose! :)

yay for roses!

ps. i realized that andrea + boats = major seasickness. >_<
i don't know why i thought i could handle it. i came only prepared with one dramamine taken too late. i had to stay most of the time outside on the hecka windy and freezing top deck. mySS was a real trooper to stick it out with me till the end. :)

changes

2.5 more weeks and i'll be done at stiefel laboratories. it was much, much longer than i expected to be working here. 1 year and 5 months to be exact. this has been a positive experience for me even if it may have stalled my thesis (a blessing in disguise). i now know how to make foam, lotion, experienced the product life cycle, and the good, bad, and ugly of corporate culture. i learned.

now back to the thesis...
does anyone, who's an Asian small business owner, want to fill out my survey?! :)
