300 miles, 3 days
after being freed from the office. i went crazy and drove all over the bay area. sf, fremont, berkeley. those were nice lil trips to get away. it's too stinking hot to elaborate on wat i did.

i am melting. i have had 5 popsicles in two days. i kinda wish for the days in the freezing office. must not...relapse to work mode...

this is all my brain can process at this moment. the meltdown continues...

apologies to arex who didn't get to go to TNF. it really wasn't that great. you truly didn't miss out on anything.

how i spent my first free day

my friend lin and i ventured up to sf so we could take care of my school stuff and her rent stuff. i am an official student! i got my student id which i look younger in than my old college id. any thoughts on how i can look older? i am not going to wear gobs of make-up! yes, ppl still think i am in high school/jr. high!!

i wandered around sfsu and decided that i liked this dowdy lil campus. it's much smaller than my old university which had a pop. of 50,000 and spread over two campuses. i am starting to get excited and settle into school mode. i think i should have "grad student" pasted on my head so students don't think i am a freshman.

we had lunch in the mission district at this restaurant called limon. it's a peruvian restaurant. the ambiance was nice and friendly. the color scheme was pleasant within the "lime" theme. i noticed that it was run by all males. the food had good presentation and i had risotto coral. the risotto was a bit tough and the seafood a bit burnt. it was ok. all in all, it was an enjoyable lunch and made me think, could i run a lil restaurant like this? very tempting.

shopping. oh yes, we did a lot. actually sfsu is next door to stonestown galleria (uh oh, trouble for me!). we ventured over and hit nordstrom and borders. i made it out w/ two children's books for my nephew and niece. we did more shopping at union square. went to nordstrom and at the same time two ppl were on the lower level of the shopping mall. one gal fainted and another guy fell/jumped off the escalator?? it was so odd to see paramedics tending to two ppl on the lower level at the same time. there sure were a lot of gawkers. we completed our shopping expedition by stopping at pearl paint art store. i decided this is the best art store in the area. no more dinky, overpriced stores for me! i bought a bunch of stuff for under $25 and received extra 10% off! oh yea! i am going to try my hand at painting.

finished the day with a nice jaunt around shoreline and walmart run. a very enjoyable first day off indeed. i still can't get over the fact that i don't need to be at work. i am getting over that thought fast. :p

i went to bed at 1:15 am! gasp!

i AM F-R-E-E!
tra la la! who is going to come out and play with me? ;P

0!!!

the day has finally come. unfortunately the day is at a stand still. mg has called me 5 times already to do this and that! he told me i would have a "relaxing" day. pUhleeze. ppl granting empty promises just kill me. ok, i am done ranting and raving. i will rant some more about work when i am officially done.

this past weekend was a doozy. spent the first half with mysterious stomach ache and sore throat. as soon as beach day arrived i was feeling a bit better (rather, i ignored the symptoms). fun, fun, fun day at the beach! our grp won first place in the "creative" category of the sand "castle" contest. our piece titled alligator devouring human was a crowd pleaser. i wonder who would come up w/ such a grotesque idea? ;P my dream finally came true!
later on that nite, after arex' hassling, i watched finding nemo. it was semi-enjoyable because i was on the verge of passing out.

spent a fatherless sunday at joy's. you can read arex' version. we watched amelie. i don't think some liked it. sigh
watching it a second time around made me appreciate how unique and special this quirky movie is. dinner at amarin thai was pretty good a bit $$. will record in eating club when time allows.

this blog will probably be on hiatus for the summer, internet access and time allowing. i will try to keep it updated.

5 more days!

the countdown continues...these days are NOT passing by quick enough. i have been trying to settle issues in and out of work, tying up loose ends. at work-i have no negative comment. i am remaining positive, motivating myself, testing my patience, pushing myself to finish projects, and thanking God each day that the end is almost near even if it does not feel like it. out of work- i dream of what i can do during my month of freedom, taking care of school stuff (i still can't get over the fact i have to pay for a class schedule), health insurance, and getting myself to call comcast.

oh, i shall be free! a free bird with high-speed internet access! mUwahhahaha! yes, i am on the verge of a breakdown. :p

june 17th is my last day of work! i no longer will be a peon, slave, lil' ant, or proletariat. i shall be FREE! well, free for the summer at least. on that note i have compiled a list of TOP TEN things to do during my summer of freedom.

10. stay up later than 11pm.
9. buy more memory & faster speed for my computer.
8. get high-speed internet access.
7. work on my website, figure out a way to load photos.
6. exercise daily, burn the fat off.
5. money matters: budget, check how much i actually have.
6. make green tea honey cake. recipe?
4. white water rafting! kapooh, get a move on it!
3. travels:spain, OK (cringe), nyc, kauai
2. mexico missions! ole!
1. reach the top of HALF DOME!! anyone up for it?

any suggestions? whew, my summer sure is getting booked up fast. i have to cram everything in the first 3 weeks of july and 2nd & 3rd weeks of august.

some of you are probably wondering why i am quitting my peon job. i shall begin a masters in industrial design in late august at sfsu. unfortunately, that means no more US open trips for me. so sad. i will accept the trade-off for vacations in winter, spring, and summer. :P wahoooo!
