back.

after coming back to my sis' new home this afternoon, we decided to head home ASAP. the smoke blew over and it was making our throats dry and sprinkling ashes. this is wat the fires looked like yesterday:

a closer look...luckily this portion of the fire (nearest to us) was gone this morning.


helicopters were landing near my sis' new home in simi valley. the right side of the picture (the west), the fires were the worst. it's prolly still burning now and moved more over to that side.

driving out of the simi valley area was crazy. huge smoke clouds were billowing over our heads and what looked like the sun setting was actually fire. i wish i could've taken pics from the highway. :P i hope some fires have subsided by now. last i heard is more fires spread to burbank area in the afternoon. thank goodness we're home. it's good to be in a nice, moist, and cool environment.

it's good to be HOME but i miss the kiddos. :/ holland was finally warming up me and let me hold her. so cuuuute but not when she screeches. :P one more day down there would've been nice. curse the fires! twas was exciting to watch. heh heh.

it's gettin' hot down here...

crazy wildfires! luckily, the one coming towards my sis' home blew over to the west. we couldn't go out last nite b/c they shutdown the 118 between my sis' new home and the old one. on the 118 east today, we could see the burned areas all over the highway and mountains. the fire and wind are still going and strong. i heard that parts of the I-5 and 101 are closed. i hope we can make it back home tomorrow safely and with no traffic jams. please pray for the ppls affected by the fires and that we can get home.

watch out LA drivers!

my parents and i drove my brother's toyota tundra v8 to LA. we brought our old fridge down to my sister who just bought a house! i was a bit apprehensive to take the wheel of the truck. oh man, it drives like buttah and is a monster up the grapevine! i'm turning into a speed demon...reaching 90mph unknowingly. ;P i almost missed an exit b/c i was debating if i could beat the person exiting behind me or not. eeks. i need to go back to my lil' ppls bus. but for now, watch out and get out of my way!!! muhawahaha!

hm, i just realized i haven't left the house since i came back from spain on sunday.

ole!

random notes:
-back from spain/london. had loads of fun. wish i was there for one more week so i could enjoy barcelona and madrid more. seville was one of my fave cities thus far.
-trying to keep my eyes peeled open. i will resist the jet lag.
-virgin airlines is great. i caught up on a bunch of lame movies: monster in law, miss congen.2 on the way there. the pacifier, k-fu hustle :), fever pitch (fell asleep at the climax), and guess who (bernie mac!) on the way back. they also have yummy lemonade soda.
-i luv fanta naranja and limon en espana/europe.
-we don't have to smell "europa" code name for b.o. no more!
-europe is a bit backward w/ their prejudices. perhaps, the japanese tourists ruins our reputation for us azn americans. that was the one big bummer on the trip.
-london is hecka $$
-i think my sickness resistance has grown. no signs of symptoms yet...hopefully i will not get the nasty thing going around with the gals. :P better load up on the vitamin C still.
-tinto verano is MY drink! mmmm...

someone's at the door...

i woke up in the middle of the night to some rattling. i wasn't sure what it was because i had a fan on. i woke up, went to the bathroom and heard more rattling. it sounded like it was coming from the door. i got scared and went to my parent's room. we got up and went to the living room to check the front yard. our outside sensor light was on. also, my dad and i saw a car w/ its headlights on and it left. i'm still a bit freaked out by this incident.
