i just want to cry. i was up till 3am working on a sculpey clay piece for a wedding gift. i just burned it while baking it. ACK!
lesson learned: NEVER TRUST TOASTER OVENS!

just came back from LA from anna & homie theo's wedding. yippeee! unfortunately we didn't get to boogie as much as we wanted to. :P

i also just bawled my head off from watching extreme makeover home edition. got another headache in doing so. i think this was the hardest i ever bawled. i only watched the end of it too! hah!

my procrastination has come into effect. that's not good when it comes to finalizing my graduation plans. ie. must get that proposal done for my thesis. it's due beginning of oct! ack. i should be working on it at this moment. i hope i can find committee members too. one more week to beg. sigh.

odd

my mom showed me how to make yogurt. it's the oddest thing:
1. start with a spoonful of yogurt, given to my mom by a friend.
2. add it to a cup of whole milk
3. leave it out for a day and it solidifies into yogurt!
4. refrigerate

repeat cycle and you have yogurt 4 life. i am still astonished how you keep making yogurt w/ just a spoonful! bacteria? i guess it's safe to eat. it kinda tastes like cottage cheese.

i just bought my bocce ball set with 4 different colors! now we can have major team competition. :P it was a bit $$ at $40 on sale but no tax or shipping. whooopeee!

new discoveries from this weekend:

i LOVE bocce, mario tennis and kart!
me gonna buy a bocce ball set! :)

great buy at costco: 5 bags of kettle chips, variety of flavors, for $5.69
bad buy for your mouth: jalapeno & tequila lime flavor hurts your mouth after you eat half a bag. :/ i guess i should learn to not inhale the bag all at once. hah.
no more chips for me for awhile. that's all i can say.

i am finally ONLINE again!!! i've been dying for the past 2 days!!! YAY!
being offline has actually made me more productive in getting my school work done... i am tempted to cancel it. sigh.
but i'm back ONLINE! YAY! YAY!

dunno wat happend...i can't connect to the internet at home! all lights are working on the cable modem/router. just the darn computer isn't connecting. i've been reduced to going to the library. :( i miss IM! wah!

back to skool

i had a hard time deciding between 2 classes. an artsy fartsy graphic design seminar class or a product design class which i'd be clueless in. i decided on the graphic design class even though i got picked on by the prof during the first week of class. the second week, i unintentionally brownnosed by volunteering to go first. HAH. that is so NOT me. i also racked up extra points by volunteering to curate an exhibit for the class at the end of the semester. THAT is what i am excited to do. this class has been interesting by learning through play-acting, creating collages in class, and other styles of teachings. a very different way of learning. almost kid-like, which suits me fine. :) if i get this exhibit up and going ya'll are gonna have to drive -up and visit it. :P j/k i wouldn't put ya'll thru the torture of art. heh heh.

i just hope i don't procrastinate my other 2 independent classes. i also have a proposal due end of September. EEKS.

here's another tale about daughter.
mother says let's go out to eat tomorrow with such excitement. daughter is like wat? fine. daughter thinks, why is mother so excited? when mother comes home from work, daughter asks why are we going out to eat? mother says we're going to invite that family that gave us those photo albums (daughter notices new photo albums). daughter is like fine, watever. the next day arrives and it's dinner time. the "family" arrives and it's just the son. daughter thinks, what happend to his mother? daughter finds out the son's mother went back home to hong kong. daughter thinks, great this dinner just conveniently happend. no turning back now. daughter now realizes the formula mother has in her head.
stanford ph.d. + speaks mandarin = bling bling.

side note:
funny story how daughter's mother met son's mother (will be referred as HK mother). HK mother got lost in the neighborhood. she couldn't figure how to get back to her son's apt. a few neighbors directed her towards a family that spoke chinese (which was roger's family). roger's mother introduced her to daughter's mother. that's how it all began while daughter was in kauai. at least this is more of a legitimate story than the previous attempt in the airport.

since i am too cheap to pay $45 for my web hosting per year, i have changed my blog to: iamandrea.blogspot.com. i decided to quit the web hosting b/c i never ever actually started an actual website. heh heh. maybe some day, after i graduate. wishful thinking.

i've been in a semi-bad mood these days. mainly because of school and 2 many other things going on. hopefully it will lift soon. i need happy endorphins. :P
