taking the "high(er) way"

'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.’
Lev. 19:18

something happened earlier this year that is really testing my patience and love. i thought that a conflict reached an all time low a few months ago and it subsided. ever since, i have been praying and hoping that the conflict would reach its end, even if the results are not good. as Christians, know we should take the “higher way” and to love our neighbors regardless. the conflict has risen again and hit rock bottom. my hope is diminishing. i thought i could understand and believe in the good of people, especially when they are Christians. it really puts the phrases “talk the walk” vs. “walk the walk” in perspective. i am trying to take the better way. when I see people close to me hurt again and again by those who say they are Christians, it makes me want to go the other way. are they truly "walking the walk"?! i’m stumped.

Some people just don't get it. Makes you understand those shirts that say, "Jesus, save me from your followers!" : P
