for the first time in a LONG time i have never ever been so BORED!! I try to think back on what i do on sunday evenings but i am so bored my brain can't even think that far. for the past few hours i have been trying to tell myself to update my blog but laziness ruled over. finally, boredom wins...at 8pm on a sunday evening i am truly bored and decided to finally blog.
so what i have been doing these last weeks of summer? i am trying to enjoy the last free 1.5 weeks but the days have been rapidly disappearing. here's an update on my fun and exciting summer:
8/2-8/9: mexico missions
all-time favorite moments:
-rollercoaster van ride (thanks to geo!)
-"oh me bladder!", holding for 5 hours. i can be proud to say that i got used to the stinky bathroom. :)
-chile limon chips
-endless bad jokes and riddles. why DID the chicken cross the road?
-trying to entertain 5 youth kids in the 9 hour van ride. we played MASH for 2 hours! (pat on my back!) supposedly i am going to marry mr. clean. does he count as a real person?
-crazy mexican kids
-yummy corn and plantain tamales
these are only a few of the fondest memories. if ya really want more details...just ask me.
8/10-8/14: entertaining relatives
my cousin and her husband from taiwan finally came to visit us for the first time! i took them on a scenic drive to half moon bay and drove up hwy 1 to SF. i can say it was quite pleasant and hope to visit the beaches on hwy 1 some day. i ended up taking my cousins and parents to stinking rose. heh heh. they wanted to eat garlic and they got garlic! we sure smelled good the next day. :) after walking around north beach, my cousin bought 4 slices of different italian cakes! i must admit that the italians can sure bake. those were some tasty treats.
i can proudly admit that i know SF pretty well. i have been the unofficial SF tour guide more than 6 times. i still hate to drive around there tho.
my MN cousin came for a few days. she's moving in with us and came to get her driver's license. another person in the house will be interesting. that's all i have to say about that.
8/12: phantom of the opera
after waiting for 7 years, my broadway dream came true. i finally saw phantom. it was quite weird and a little disturbing. i am trying to find more about the story but still confused. all i can say is: that phantom dude sure is messed up! some of the scenes and tricks were kinda cool.
8/16: my brain hurt
saturday morning was the first time i used my brain to think for a very long time. 2 hours of a graduate essay test basically put me down for the rest of the day. i just hope i passed. i have not written an essay in YEARS. design majors do not need to write! ;)
the rest of the day was low brain activity. shopping to kill time, school orientation, and spring roll party!

on the more serious side of things...
found out my niece has major problems with her health. my sister's family is driving today from oklahoma to LA for further testing. all i can say is oklahoma has retarded doctors. please help me pray for my sister's family. it's strange that both of our families are healthy and this little, funny, cute 2-yr old girl has very serious problems. hopefully we'll know more about her health later this week after the tests.
