july started with a KABOOM!
starting with my bday k-ok kidnapping. yay yay. we ate at kabul's, an afghan restaurant. it was pretty yummy (to be reviewed in eating club). after we were done i thought possibly we'd go hang somewhere. little did i know some ppls (ah hem!) came up w/ different plans! when i saw that incriminating flag bandana coming out of jt's pocket i knew something was going down. oh gee, whose idea was this originally??!! i WILL get ya'll back. JUST YOU (3) WAIT! i was almost hoping that we were off to somewhere else. especially when doy started driving around in circles and making me nauseous. bleh. finally we arrived to world k-ok and my song started playing. i was nicely/torturously serenaded by jt and marky. i think i was a bit deaf after that. it took me awhile to get into the k-ok mode and then all of us started wailing to all the songs. we were starting to lose our voices after trying to sing terribly and cracking up hilariously. kachiu recorded some of our greatest moments that night. i just have to upload them up to my website. :O
that nite led to a very memorable bday, i must say. that places in first above my 21st. :P
thanks to all who came and enjoyed the embarassment.
here are some pics.
river RAFTIN'!
yup, i finally went and i give it a thumb up and a super duper! a grp of 12 guys and gals headed up towards mother lode raftin' at 630am. we got all geared up and the fun began! it wasn't as thrilling as i thought it would be but it was very satisfactory. i wish we had more rapids and more time to float in the river. you can read a more complete commentary on our experience from kachiu's july 6th entry. i definitely want to try a higher level where it's rapids after rapids! next july 4th!
ash turds in our eyes
you sure read rite! ash turds!
later that afternoon...we headed to hecka hot sacto to stay overnight and enjoy fireworks. we had take-out chili's and jamba juice. we sat on the lawn with blankets and a deck of cards. the fireworks finally began. there were plenty of ooh's and aah's until...things kept falling on us. at first i thought it was bugs. i tried to swat them away but more kept on coming! all to soon we discovered that it was the ashes from the fireworks! man, did we get showered on. they also kept falling into my eyes. augh. now we know where NOT to sit! the nite was complete with a dip into the sizzling jacuzzi and pool.
the next day we had a relaxing morning and drove back down to good ol' mt. view.
what a fanastic way to spend the 4th.
